Great to find another advocate for 1993 as the best year vs the pro-1992 and 1994 camps! There really were some absolute belters on Moving Shadow and I love the fact that they are/were local to where I live. Nookie once had a record shop in Hitchin (my medium sized town in Hertfordshire) while Moving Shadow was based out of neighbouring Stevenage, which was namechecked on the flip of the Remix 2 version of Helicopter Tune (SHADOW 41R2). The name of that tune, Sunset Over Stevenage always makes me laugh given what an absolute shit hole it is!

Re: Pearsall presents Rethinking Missed Chances: The Return of Jungle Techno

Thanks for doing this mix! Jungle Techno passed me by as i was just too young for proper rave tunes in 1993 and by 1994 when i got into it, like you said, it had disappeared already. Everyone was always looking forward then and older styles were swiftly dismissed as old hat. Perhaps not suprisingly, 93 and very early 94 is now my favourite era and i love it when new producers smash out a jungle techno stomper -- in fact i own a fair few of these tunes myself and they are fantastic (including your very own very excellent Crossbones track). It's very nice to have them sequenced and mixed so I don't have to get up and change the records over lol (i sadly cannot DJ, although i would love to be able to).

Re: Pearsall – Squat Rocking EP (Plus My Self-Interview!)

Bought the vinyl and really enjoying it. I really enjoy coming back here every week or two in the hope of finding a new mix. While I don't love every genre you work with, there's more hits than misses and I prefer being surprised than it getting a bit predictable and stale. As I've said before, as well as the music, I love the fact that you take the time to write up the story behind each mix, as well as creating cue files and tracklists - which is unique as far as I can tell. Here's to 500K listens!

Re: Pearsall presents Full Metal Jacking (A Jerome Hill Tribute)

What a treat! I always get something new out of it as I will have discovered more gems in the meantime. I credit you with getting me into Jungle Techno which had all but disappeared by the time I started raving in 94/95. Your darkside mix also reignited my love of that genre and sparked a major Discogs deep dive that's still going strong. Keep on mixing and writing! Big Up!

Re: Pearsall presents Get It 003: Get Ruff Tuff Dangerous (New Skool Ragga Jungle mix)

Lovely mix, would like some Congo Natty in there.

I. Acid techno is among my favorite genres. Pearsall's acid techno mixes get heavy play, but the other mixes are also a pleasure to listen to. LOVE the Juke post as well! Since I am from Toronto, Canada, please allow me to expose you to one of our better local DJ's, Sanderson Dear, whom I have followed since the mid-to-late 90's. Please keep going as I love the write-ups as much as the music, particularly when you go in depth about your selection. Listening now and sounds awesome, although I was a junglist at heart back in the day, I actually went to more acid techno nights as the atmosphere and crowds were so much better vs the moody jungle nights in Birmingham and London.

Also, shout out to the Misjah and Tim tune, Access - it never gets old. I have a question that I’m struggling to find an answer for in Google. You mention using split files on your iPod - how can I use the cue sheets to do something similar in iTunes so I can get them on my phone? I can’t figure out how to get the cue sheets into iTunes basically. It works fine in VLC but that’s only for desktop. Thanks in advance and looking forward to the next mix (hope it’s an old school breakbeats one! )

Re: Pearsall presents Beyond Ecstatic (Hardcore Goes Jungle) [The 780 Project Part 10]

Cracking mix sir! Really enjoyed this one given that I’m a former junglist that got into it between and ‘94 and ‘96 but have more recently fallen in love with hardcore (after always having a soft spot for happy hardcore). These are pretty much all new tunes to me and I’m like a pig in shit! This will be on heavy rotation for some time.
